Comments about Interfit Photographic Interfit Photographic Digitlite Fluorescent Daylight Two Head Kit with Lightstands.:

I like fluorescent lighting for portrait work and was previously using a couple of utility metal reflectors from wal-mart with a 30 watt fluorescent bulb in each. The light was perfectly white and required no color correction...but I needed more light. The Digit light system would seem to fit the bill right? I went from 2 lights to 12. Wrong, this thing didn't produce anywhere near enough light for portrait work. And the light it does produce is nowhere near daylight, very reddish. I had to color correct every image to get rid of the awful red cast. Adding to that they are monsters in size and weight. During shipping the tubes came unseated and I had to take them apart and try to reseat them. That is when I noticed there is no way to replace the bulbs...they are soldered directly into the wiring. Maybe you can just get out your solder gun when one goes out, but at this price why?I replaced the digitlite with a 3 light Smith-Victor KFL33 fluorescent system and it is exactly what I wanted...a lot more daylight balanced white light, weight a fraction of the DigitLite and I can replace the bulbs for 5 bucks at[...]. To add insult to injury, [...] makes you eat the shipping both ways if you return something. So I paid [...] bucks just to get rid of these monsters.
