Photoflex makes good quality equipment and as I continue to build my studio, I intend to stick with this brand. It is durable and well made, easy to set up and use. The continuous lighting makes it simple to get it right in the beginning because what you see is what you get. I bought the grid to go on this and it is great for keeping the light off of the background. There is a problem with the length of the bulb in that it does not fit in this softbox with the inner baffle attached. I did all I could with affixing it to the velcro so it would be further from the bulb but it still is too long. It also just touches the outer cloth and I am concerned about it singing the fabric since it gets quite hot over time. I contacted Photoflex and they informed me that the Starlite was not intended for the XS NXT Octodome and that I should try to find a shorter length bulb with a mogul base to put in to replace it with so I could use the Starlite with the XS NXT. They are currently working on developing new bulbs but no date is known for their release.
