Comments about Smith-Victor Smith Victor KT800 3-Light 1250-Watt Thrifty Photoflood Kit with Umbrellas:
Easy construction and set-up. Purchased this set after reading other reviews indicating 250 watt bulbs were too little and 500 watts may be too hot. This set also provides dimmers on each light, which was the main difference I found with other sets. You could purchase dimmers locally but you have to be sure they can handle the higher wattage. This set included the dimmers at no additional cost. When using the dimmer, however, the light produces a much warmer color but for portraiture or use with colored gels may be preferred. More experienced photographers may find other types of lighting sets better but being new to this I preferred the constant light easier to adjust correctly. Other than flash unit this is my first foray into lighting sets. This is a "Thrifty" set and I suspect there are better products but for my limited use and budget, this has proven to be just as expected and I would recommend the product to others in the same situation.

This is a great starter set. The set contains (3) lights with (2) unbrellas. All of the lights have dimmers for light control. One drawback is the reflector to tripod connector - it's a little weak so you may have to make sure it is really tight. Umbrellas are white so mainly used to shoot through.
