My bf is a professional fashion photographer. His friend in Marrakesh got a ring flash for a camera like his. For one of his Christmas gifts, I wanted to get him the same flash. My industry friend recommended I see Efraim at Adorama. It was worth the wait, because he suggested different options even though price was not an issue. This ring flash was somewhat new to the market and he pointed out that the flash was stronger since it ran off the camera battery. etc. He even let me call my bf in Paris and talked to him since he understood he was a career photographer. I needed a good ring flash to use with my Canon XTi. I have a lot of different flash units, including the 580 EX II, which is the unit this adapter was made for. I also was able to borrow a Canon ring flash unit, so I was able to actually do some A-B tests with them.
If you already have a 580 EX II, this is the way to go. You save money and you get a very flexible flash system.
The photos with this are every bit as clean as the ones with the Canon ring flash.
