The SB-900 is very powerful and I was surprised at how fast it went thru the 4 batteries. I can shoot a whole wedding with this power pack and not worry about the flash batteries.

I use this power pack whenever I use the SB900 - for night football (flash & battery pack on monopod), event photography (battery pack on belt), and portraits (battery pack hanging on light stand). It does the job... gets me through an entire game, party, or portrait session. I wish the battery trays weren't so expensive or I'd get a spare, but I almost never have to load new batteries in the middle of a session (I load it with Powerex 2700 rechargeables). I haven't timed it to see how much faster it recycles, but it definitely helps maintain short recycle times later in the session!

I use this with my Nikon SB-900 and together, they are like the "dream team". I also have other dedicated battery packs, but this one is the best fit. I also clamp it to light posts for location lighting.

Does what it says. Better design then previous generation. Easy to replace batteries. 8 batteries vs 6 batteries, make it last even longer. Pouch design is better too. Easier to take on and off belt. Easier to put in case too. Doesn't matter which way you slide the case in since the pouch has openings on all sides.
