This came with my Flash, I didn't think I would use it, but I found it can have its uses. It seems that it does disperse the light more evenly when used although it reduces the amount of light cast upon the subject, which is to be expected. Overall in my opinion its a great item to have in your bag.

This is an absolute must-purchase alongside the 430EXII or 580EXII. Softens an otherwise harsh output. The only negative I have is if you leave it on the flash, the unit no longer fits into its case. But a small grievance for an otherwise must-have for anyone using a Canon shoe-mount flash.

I bought this same flash diffuser a few years ago for my 430ex and it didn't fit that tight, I bought another 430exII and this same diffuser and found out they have made some big inprovments, It fits tight, it's alot better than the old version. A flash diffuser in mainly used indoors, it keeps the flash from blowing out the white, watch a news meeting, every flash has one on it and the the photos turn out great.

I wouldn't get this if it was not in a kit. The 430ex II has a built-in wide angle lens and also allows you to bounce the flash. In the end no need for it.

I got it for my wife camera and when she went for a one day trip she lost it since the fit on the flash was loose. Otherwise I would say it was a good product
