So far I've just played around with it, but it definitely provides a better look than just pointing the flash at people

I use this when I need an overall even lighting. It gives me the Bare Bulb look. In the regular flash position it is quite strong, but is more like a bare bulb in the 90 degree position.
My only complaint is this:
It is not very portable (a quite large dome)and would not fit very well in a backpack type camera bag. I have a stackable 3 compartment case that I use to carry the diffuser dome in.
