Comments about Gary Fong Gary Fong Origami Diffuser - Fold Flat Flash Diffuser:

I bought this because I wanted something small and portable to carry in my camera bag.
I had to play with this for a while to figure out the best way to bounce flash without having dark spots - not the best diffuser I've used.

Comments about Gary Fong Gary Fong Origami Diffuser - Fold Flat Flash Diffuser:

I've had and used Gary Fong's light diffusers for some time. They work well, but have the drawback of being a bit bulky to carry and store. The Origami model fixes that in that it lies down flat in storage and goes in the pocket of my camera back. A great design. In use, it serves most of my purposes and is enjoyable to use. The price is extremely reasonable. About my only mild complaint is that there were no enclosed instructions to show how to attach it to the flash and I guessed wrong. Once we figured out the right way, it turns out that the Origami stays firmly attached to the flash unit. It really does work well.

Comments about Gary Fong Gary Fong Origami Diffuser - Fold Flat Flash Diffuser:

I'm impressed. The diffuser works as advertised, which is saying a lot. As others may have commented, it's not the sturdiest thing in the world. If you throw it into a bag with no regard for protecting them, the seems will break.

They'll probably break eventually regardless of how you treat it.

Considering that it folds flat and will fit easily between your camera body and the side of your bag or in a flat pocket taking up no more space than a medium moleskine, it's a winner.

I haven't used it as a key light yet, and I don't expect it to perform well if I do, but for fill flash indoors or when your bag is too full for anything else, it's great.

The "Origami" has proven to be great addition to my arsenal of Gary Fong diffusers. The Whale Tails and the Omni-sphere are themselves fantastic light controllers. All of Gary's diffusers have allowed me to put my camera bracket on the shelf.

This is in my opinion the best deal for a light diffuser on the market today. Gary Fong out did himself on this one. The fact that such a simple device can do so much is just remarkable ... for the money, this is a fantastic product. And, it folds flat!! Brilliant!

Comments about Gary Fong Gary Fong Origami Diffuser - Fold Flat Flash Diffuser:

I totally love the Origami! Especially the fact that it folds down to be so compact.
It fits easily onto all my flash heads (Canon 430ex,550ex, and 580ex).
I used to travel with umbrellas and brolly boxes, but now i take a couple of Origamis and a Whaletail or two, and I'm all set for consistent, beautiful light.
Perfect for traveling.

Comments about Gary Fong Gary Fong Origami Diffuser - Fold Flat Flash Diffuser:

I am a travel photographer and need something for the best lighting and portability. It comes with two flaps, one is a warming filter and one is neutral. It is fun to experiment with not only the different colors but the angles of tilt for the flap. It is great for portrait quality as well as macro photography fill.
