Stays on the camera
Comments about Gary Fong Gary Fong The Puffer, Pop-up Flash Diffuser for Sony & Konica/Minota Cameras:
The base will not slide fully on to the Sony flash shoe without exerting way more force than I want to apply to the camera. (I thought maybe my Puffer was a one-time defective unit, but I have since heard of other people with the same problem.)
The area of the source is still pretty small, so the softening effect is minimal at distances of more than about 3 ft.

Can't get it to fit properly on my A700 or my Minolta Maxxum 5. It won't slide all the way on the hot shoe. Compared the Puffer's mount with my Sony flashes, and I think they made the mount slightly too wide. AS they say, measure thrice, cut once!

A good diffuser, but plastic parts are flimsy, and it requires a lot of pressure to slide the frame into place on the camera and then clip the diffuser shield into place.

Great for avoiding "silver eye" in close up pix of dogs, cats, birds, etc. Existing techniques easily prevent or correct "red eye" in humans but the corresponding effect in animals is stubborn.
