I own a Bogen Superclamp and got this because I needed another and thought it would be the same. Handle is NOT the same as shown in photo, holes are poorly drilled, extra parts with no instructions or hint what for. On the other hand, it seems to work similar to the Bogen. I'll put expensive gear on the Bogen and cheaper stuff on these cheap knock-offs.
Comments about Adorama Adorama Pro Clamp with Reversible Mounting Stud. 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 Screw Threads.:
My use for clamp is to support a Q-Flash battery on a light stand.
But it has many possibilities.
It is a well designed, versatile heavy duty clamp.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Pro Clamp with Reversible Mounting Stud. 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 Screw Threads.:
I bought this and the Manfrotto Super Clamp (SC) it competes with. With both of them right out of the box, the super clamp feels like a much better product. The shape, and function is nearly identical on the two, but fit and feel of the super clamp is better. The wedge that fits in clamp is loose fitting and falls out easily. This is not a problem with the SC. As another reviewer noted, the lever for tightening the clamp is long just like the SC. I was hopping it would be the small nob shown in the picture so it would be easy to adjust in tight spaces.
All in all, it looks like it will work, but it is mediocre at best.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Pro Clamp with Reversible Mounting Stud. 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 Screw Threads.:
The one I received actually had a full handle on the main nob much like the original Manfrotto Super Clamp which it competes with. On this one I found the stud easily falls out, as well as the triangular insert, and it smells slightly of paint. If you are willing to put up with those hassles to save some cash - then by all means - go for it. This seems to work just as well otherwise, see my review here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZThprwulm64

Comments about Adorama Adorama Pro Clamp with Reversible Mounting Stud. 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 Screw Threads.:
On location film shoot in a cramped railcar, these clamps saved the day allowing lighting in places there was no where to grab. Every bit as dependable as the expensive name-brand clamps, which worked side by side with these. I plan to buy four more!
Comments about Adorama Adorama Pro Clamp with Reversible Mounting Stud. 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 Screw Threads.:
Needed to hang a multimedia projector for the big game to show on a temporary wide screen in the garage. Down the center of the ceiling is the garage door opener track. This clamp had just enough jaw to grip the rail firmly. The 1/4" 20 threads accommodated a ball head from my monopod, and attached to the projector's own threaded hole. The projector balanced nicely upside down. Stability and adjustability in one small sturdy package.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Pro Clamp with Reversible Mounting Stud. 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 Screw Threads.:
Great value with a familiar design. The dual threaded stud is much more versatile for light and medium tasks. Little things make it disappointing: The screw and its spring tensioner for the stud interferes with storing the flat-jaw block. The flat-jaw block falls out of positioning holes and is hard plastic rather than slightly softer jaw padding; this little guy will get lost unless taped. Some threaded holes were not straight. The main handle was the old style single-handle type, not the more compact two-lug seen in the photo. Clamp came with some sort of soft rubber half pipe rubber block and some screws. I can't figure out the purpose of the big rubber block or why you would want to screw it into the back of the clamp. Or is it to clamp to the end of a pipe - very odd. The other screws might have been for the flat-jaw insert. but why would someone want to permanently configure the clamp one way or the other. The beauty of this clamp is it's versatility and adaptability. The black coating covered some of the threaded holes -- poor finish.
Flat-Jaw insert falls out - gets lost.

I used these as a component part to my cobbled strobe light set-up. I had some nice PA speaker stands that I don't use very often and in conjunction with this clam and a Hot Shoe/Umbrella Clamp with my trusty Nikon Plastic flash stands I am in business - my setup works better than any I have seen and it isn't going to blow over. Very heavy for the $$

I use it mounted on a 10 ft. stepladder to get views over fences of buildings. Like the solid construction. An illustrated guide to possible set ups would be very useful

My problem was to mount a 28" Really right Stuff macro focusing rail to a 14"x 1.5" B&L microscope support arm. The Canon 180mm then could be moved, up and down like an enlarger, to photograph postage stamps. Two of these clamps with the supplied standoffs worked flawlessly. They are supporting 20+ lbs of camera, rail and lighting between them. The grip on the anodized column has not slipped in over a month.

I don't see how this thing can be beat. For the great price you get a rock solid clamp with the rubber wedges and the brass stud included. Super value.

Out of all the things on a pro photo set I really didn't expect a maffer clamp to break. I use these clamps for what they are made for: Attach them to a tube, pipe, door or stand etc. to mount a strobe head onto the stud. Nest thing I know, the thick steel rood that holds the upper part of the clamp that moves when tightening broke ON BOTH SIDES! What sort of crazy cheap steel are they using to make these? I thought if anything breakes it'll be the plastic handle, but no....Having been really excited to have found one with a stud for [$]less than other brands, I obviously got what I paid for: Less than nothing. Once again a bad rep for Adorama.

I use three of these for my automotive rig. At first I was using a 1.6" outside diameter pipe, and was a little wary about how the 1.9" OD pipe looked in the jaws of this clamp.
But further testing has settled me down some and given me a comfort level of letting this hold onto the 1.9" OD pipe with my DSLR hanging at the end.
It was a good bit cheaper than the name brand counterpart, and I haven't noticed anything missing or lacking.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Pro Clamp with Reversible Mounting Stud. 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 Screw Threads.:
Great little clamp. I bought 2 of them on recommendation of pretty much every strobist. They work great exactly as advertised. My only beef is that there are no directions. Mine came with a ton of extra parts. Rubber half circle thingy, a bunch of screws, some self driving some not. Then the clamp with the reversible mount. That part works perfect. Yes a bit heavy, but it's heavy duty! So whats with the extra parts?

Very helpful item. Turns any surface (ledge, door, shelf, pipe, etc.) into an improvised tripod or light stand.
Sturdy item but too heavy for me to carry in my camera bag. Would like to have this item but lighter weight.
