Comments about Smith-Victor Smith Victor 580 Brass Adapter with 1/4" & 3/8" Male & Female Ends, 3" Long.:
Geez, this thing is only supposed to do one thing, allow connections of accessories via the male or female threads. But in the one I received, which was silver and not brass by the way, the threads were off on the ¼" male end and it will not screw into the ¼" female end or any other ¼" female end. I took a wire wheel to the threads to clean them up, and now it partially works, but if the piece you are going to screw this into is softer material, such as aluminum or plastic, it will mis-thread that part. Come on Smith Victor, how hard is it to get a 1/4" 20 thread right?
I should have bought the Bogen one, they always work.

Needed these for some PVC light stands. Did the job perfectly.
