I wanted a boom stand that could handle some weight and not tip over. I knew that it would be a trade-off between lightweight and sturdy. I opted for sturdy, and I am delighted with this stand! It is killer and will last a lifetime. Yes, it's a little heavy, but I don't plan on schlepping it around. It's great in the studio. Looks, feels, and performs like a pro product should. No regrets.
