Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Mini SoftBox:

Works better than a plastic diffuser especially for close-ups; softer and more diffused light. Fortunately, it costs you only a half stop on the exposure (I think the box said a whole stop). The SoftBox's best lighting is on the bounce. It's small enough to cause no effect on the Speedlight's zoom apparatus. I can't say it's durable, because I just bought it a few weeks ago, but it looks and feels well-made.

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Mini SoftBox:

The soft box does a great job softening the harsh effects of your digital flash. It attaches easily with velcro so you can use it on several flashes. I just bought a new one today because my old one is starting to show wear after 2 digital cameras, 50000+ photos and 5 years of shoving it into my crowded camera bag. I rarely take photos without it. Once you get one you can easily test to see the difference if makes in producing softer and warmer lighting.

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Mini SoftBox:

This has been quite find for my SB-800. I also bought a third party version of the small plastic diffuser similar to the Nikon version, cut enough of the the front off with a mat knife to hold the Velcro, slide that on and attach the soft box. I preferred that to attaching it directly to the flash unit. It works great, a nice soft light. Soft enough to shoot a 90 degree angle shot with no red eye (again nice!). If you don't like the Velcro, you could remove it completely and use a wide, tight rubber band to hold it on (even more economical).

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Mini SoftBox:

This little softbox is outstanding. It's inexpensive, performs better than expected, folds up to a small storable size. I can't imagine shooting weddings without this product. I use the Nikon SB-800 and attach the supplied diffuser and the softbox over the top of the diffuser. It generates a wonderful soft light, especially when bounced off walls and ceilings, even over my shoulder. The kicker is, it folds up and fits right in my camera bag taking up very little room. Yes you need to put 4 strips of adhesive velcro around your flash, but why is that an issue when you get such nice soft velvety light? The velcro is a minor issue if the lighting is that much better. This little softbox is a must buy [...]

Something to consider......
By John RobertVerified Reviewer from Washington on 4/1/2007
Pros:
Softens Light, Strong Construction
Cons:
Bulky, HEAVY
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Mini SoftBox:

This is a very heavy diffuser for it's small size. You will have to leave velcro on your camera at all times to use this product. The weight of this diffuser is enough to where your flash will lose it's position and depending on the angle - may lose balance when used at a 90 degree angle.

As for the diffusing properties - it works great. :)
