Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Ultrasoft Bounce Flash Device:

This is a very compact and good tool for portraits.

One drawback I didn't expect was that I couldn't peel the velcro out from the pads. I had to use elastic bands to attach it to my flash.

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Ultrasoft Bounce Flash Device:

Of the various LumiQuest flash bounce accessories, I found that the Pocket Bouncer was occasionally still too harsh. As such, I purchased this Ultrasoft Bouncer and found that it appropriately softened those harsher conditions. Since I now have both bouncers, I use the Ultrasoft for all close-range shots (less than 15 ft) and the Pocket Bouncer for flashes 15-30 ft away.

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Ultrasoft Bounce Flash Device:

This product is great when you don't have a reliable source to bounce your light off of. I use the SB-600 and I attach this product with a cinch strap. (The cinch strap is a MUST. It's about [$]I think, and it enables you to attach your bouncer/ultrasoft WITHOUT putting adhesive on your flash.) I did some test shots and found that this works great in dark rooms where the lighting is poor and there's no good bouncing surfaces. Using this for a studio shot with a white background seems way too harsh to me. It gives me the impression of a dead-on, cheap flash. But in a darker room it spreads the light out well. I tried the pocket bouncer as well. I would definitely suggest the Ultrasoft over the regular pocket bouncer any day!

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Ultrasoft Bounce Flash Device:

I bought this because I needed a flash diffuser for a Wedding. Given more time I would have made something similar myself, but I had other things to do. I don't think most Flash users should be without a product like this. If you know what your doing, or going for a specific look, you could do without, but other than that any flash user should have a product like this.

It works well, but I would hesitate to use it unless you have a top-of-the-line flash, as the loss of light can be too much for smaller flashes. When used on my smaller flashes, I find that recycle time can be painfully long since they have to work much harder with a diffuser on them.

BTW, For what it's worth I got my best photo of my black cat using this product.
