This pack worked the first three times I used it it would loose charge quickly but it wasn't too bad after my third shoot the pack decided to no longer hold a charge, so now is just expensive paperweight. Do not buy.

I bought this for my flashpoint 320m monolight to use on location, it worked fine at first, but after a while, it wouldn't hold a charge and now it doesn't charge at all. It's not worth it. Very very disappointed in this product.

Very Unhappy!
The Power Pack should have come with the special Connecting Cable to the Flashpoint Monolight, but did not! The Power Switch will not stay ON unless you press and hold it ON! What this means is that the Unit is useless and needs to be returned. I'm sure this unit was never tested. If you buy one.. I hope your luck is better than mine.

bought two of them for outdoor shooting. Everything is great for the price unless the device works. One is operational but another came completely dead. Have read other reviews with the same problem - buying them you're trying your luck !

Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint II D/C Battery Power Pack, for use with the M Series Monolights.:

Unit works great. I dont know who makes this stuff, theres no name. Electronics, sockets and housing look like there from the 70s. But alot of that stuff is repairable if it breaks down. So this is still a plus. The operating instructions say that this is a Nickel-Hydrogen Metal Battery, That Hydrogen name made me wonder if this thing could take out a wall if not run right, But the battery inside is a Ni-Cad dry Metal Battery and not a Nickel-Hydrogen Metal Battery. Instructions and labling on the unit are a little hard to under stand but Over all I like the unit.

Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint II D/C Battery Power Pack, for use with the M Series Monolights.:

I have two of these for use with a 320M and a 620M monolight.
This product is better than I had expected. I have used these for two on-location shoots since I got these and they have been awesome.
If you are on a budget (like me :)), this power pack is an unbeatable value. I like the fact that it comes with a car charger for on-the-go charging - I haven't used that feature as yet.
The pack is very handy for weighing down light stands in windy conditions too :)

Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint II D/C Battery Power Pack, for use with the M Series Monolights.:

After breaking one of the ProFoto heads I needed to build a small studio setup that I could take anywhere and not worry about getting damaged. I came across the flash point lights and battery pack. It was such a bargain that I bought one to test. I was amazed how lite weight these where compared to the ProFoto Pro-7/Vagabond 2. I throw it into my bag and not feel any difference in weight.

The battery recharges in less then an hour most of the time and also charges using a car 12 volt port.

Now there are a few cons, most I can live with. The recycle time is a bit slow on the 300 w/s. Full power is about 1 sec. Which is still fast considering the size of the battery. Another con is that the battery does not have a receiver built in the unit like Profoto/Bowens.

The one con which I wish will be addressed soon is the power. 300 w/s is nice but the ProFoto lights are 1200w/s. I just wish something more powerful comes out soon. Even a 600w/s light would be nice.

Other then the one con which I am working around these lights are a great value. The price of 1 ProFoto light and Battery will buy you 5 Batteries and lights.

300 WS at full pop takes about 3 seconds to to charge. Which in my mind is pretty impressive. It is very light about a pound and a half (my guess)

The other cool thing is if your battery is low you can connect any 12V battery to the battery pack. So I imagine you could shoot for a month on a car battery. However I find models get cranky after 4 hours.

Something I would like to see is the bag for the battery pack have pockets for the cables.

Things to note:
1) The fan does not run in DC mode. So it air cooled at this point.

2) No modeling light so night shoots you need a flashlight for auto focus and to see,

I am really impressed with this at this preliminary stage.

I trashed this battery pack in my last review. I want to say after returning 2 defective battery packs the third one is a gem. I have taken acouple hundred shots, some runnning 2 620m's and it still has a charge left. For the money it is a good value [...] I am very pleased with this item and retract my first review.

Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint II D/C Battery Power Pack, for use with the M Series Monolights.:

I had to return the first 2 battery packs because they were defective. This 3rd one works but it is poorly constructed. I had to add my own silicone to close the corners to seal the unit. I have little faith in this unit since my first one did not hold the charge. With this battery you really get what you pay for. One plus is it is very light weight. Otherwise I would recommend a Vegabond and pay the extra $.
