Comments about Photoflex Photoflex Starflash 250w Modeling Lamp - Frosted:
I am currently setting up a home studio and after months of research, decided on all Photo Flex lighting gear. 650 ws with softbox, and a 300 ws with umbrella. All is very nice to work with, with the exception of these modeling lamps that keep going out. (Averaging an hour or less of total use.) I'm fairly new to portrait photography so I'm not sure if that's typical or not.

We use mostly photoflex products in our studio, so I can't compare the lifespan of this bulb to other brands. I purchased two of these to replace the ones that came with the strobes. We don't use modeling lights too often, as we pretty much know what changes will make to the shadows. Still, they are useful. Put the new bulb in. Turned it on twice (less than five minutes of actual use) and it stopped working. Very frustrating. Still contacting Photoflex to see if they will replace it.
