Comments about Nikon Nikon SK-6A Power Bracket:

This allow sb800 or sb600 to be mounted to side of camera and also allow easy positioning of camera for vertical shots.

Way less bulky that the flip brackets or custom pro brackets (that I also have).

Also the most important feature - connects to hotshoe so you can use ttlbl funtion of flash for flash fill and ambient/flash lighting.

Extra battey power of 8 total batteries also helps.

Comments about Nikon Nikon SK-6A Power Bracket:

The SK-6A Power Bracket allows the appropriate shoe mount speed light to be used securely in a grip bracket configuration, either attached to the camera unit or held comfortably off hand, and is comfortable to use. The camera bracket locks into the speed light bracket, and has two positions of mounting for the style of camera. Unlocking the speed light bracket for off hand use is as quick as pressing a lever (clever). It also offers an external power supply for the speed light, though unlike the SD-8A battery pack and capacity is limited to four batteries. This is a unit that would receive heavy usage, like other TTL accessories, and critical components made of plastic may suffer. Units like this really should be engineered to a Mil Spec standard, given the price. The shoe mount cable adaptor is a tight fit with no lockdown mechanism, so be careful when attaching, it should have at least the traditional Nikon lock down lever like on the SB-800. The connecting chord plugs are of the RJ style, not the rugged TTL design plugs(unfortunately), which means the ordinary TTL cables cannot be used. Otherwise, this power bracket is a very useful accessory.
