I'll start with the bottom line: I've owned this thing for three years and I grit my teeth every time I have to use it. I'm actually back at Adorama looking for an alternative so I can toss this one in the dumpster.

With small products, this light tent is excellent. Circuit boards would be no problem. With tall items and deep items it works well. With wide items -- audio components, computers, camera bags -- it is large enough but, because of poor design, it is almost worthless. The item comes with a black and white backdrop that only works in one (or two, depending on how you count) orientations. You can't orient the backgrounds any other way. And you can't really get away w/o using a backdrop because they've put a zipper or door on opposite sides so if you're shooting through one you see the other. It may be hard to appreciate what I'm describing but look at the product image and imagine you want to shoot through the wide side. You can't do it unless you don't mind seeing the opposite door behind your subject since there's no way to cover the opposite wall with the backdrop.

We use this device to photograph electronic circuit boards for use in service manuals. Without the Photek Lighthouse we had problems with reflections. After some trial and error we got the right setup and we are able to do our work in an efficent maner. Note: not sure why they call this "Digital", should work with film!
