The stand is rather heavy, but must be to remain stable while in use. Because of this weight, the system remains stable with a small or medium soft box extended to maximum length of the matching boom.
The hanging weight bag is a must, and when used, rotation of the boom is executed smoothly. Though the bow of the boom under two end weights draws a concerned look, all remains stable.
