Comments about Sigma Sigma EF-610 DG Super Shoe Mount Flash for Canon EOS E-TTL-II Digital SLR's, Guide Number 200 feet at 105mm Setting.:

I bought this to replace my 580EX which broke under warranty. Quite impressive! A little more power than the 580EX at half the price.YES.it syncs to Hi-Speed shutter settings outdoors! Communicates zoom settings,ISO changes, output power changes.Requires seperate button to press to rotate horizontal(bummer).Only rotates 90 degrees to the right. But full 180 to the left. Diffuser work xlnt..even with my super wide 10-22mm.Well built.rubberized body.On/Off switch a little hard to slide.Recyling a little slower than Canon. If your on a budget, you cant lose. If you shoot alot, I suggest an extended warranty with ANY flash unit. NOTE: You have to buy the more expensive "Super" model if you want high speed sync...

Comments about Sigma Sigma EF-610 DG Super Shoe Mount Flash for Canon EOS E-TTL-II Digital SLR's, Guide Number 200 feet at 105mm Setting.:

Worked flawlessly on my 450D/XSi but did not work on my Canon 7D. Good news, an update to my 7D's firmware to 1.2.3 made all the difference. All is good now!!!I suppose the wireless would have been great like the 580 EX II with the 7D but for [$] versus $450, I can't complain!

I use for event photography.
It does everything including wireless operation that Canon 550 offers.
