Comments about Pocket Wizard PocketWizard AC3 ZoneController for Canon DSLR Cameras:

I just picked mine up yesterday from my local photo shop in NW Portland. Dollar-for-dollar it is the most effective piece of kit I have ever purchased!

This works exactly like I dreamed it would. When you are using one or more PW'd flashes, this gadget easily and intuitively will control their relative strengths in ETTL, absolute strengths in manual, or even a mix of both! You can select manual or auto (ETTL) for each zone and use each zone's wheel to set the flash power (on an absolute basis for manual or on a relative basis for ETTL).

The strobing process is so simple now. Click, chimp, turn one or more dials if needed and click again! Tuning the flash groups has never been faster or easier! You don't even have to crack the manual open as it is so intuitive.

The AC3 is smaller than I thought it would be, and this makes the fractional numbers on the dials hard to read for my aging eyes, but this is easy to work around by counting clicks between the whole numbers which are marked with bigger numbers. The plus side is that it is as light as a feather and needs no batteries of its own, as it functions as an auxiliary control panel on your FlexTT5 (or MiniTT1). One note -- it uses the hotshoe on top of your Flex or Mini and so you cannot use it with a camera mounted flash -- I never use a camera mounted flash while remote strobing so this is not an issue for me.

It is super easy and quick to make adjustments, and I'll never use the in-camera or in-flash control menu again if I have my Pocket Wizards handy.
