Comments about Norman Norman PE-5 Photo Eye Sync Slave with Female PC Connection.:

Tried on Sigma and Sunpak flashes as slaves. It would fail to fire sometimes until I manually fired the flash, which sort of "reset" the circuitry. Once that glitch was figured out, I noticed the slave didn't show in some of the pictures, even though I saw it fire. Tried experimenting with shutter, slowing it all the way to 1/8, but still had inconsistencies. That's when I decided to turn the unit around so the eye did not have direct contact with the main flash, and then it worked much better. Best I can figure, this thing is SO sensitive, that it will fire prematurely when the main flash is just building up light and before peak brilliance. By facing away, it didn't trip until the scene was well lit. That might work to your advantage if the slave is a good distance away where some slaves I've owned won't fire even when pointed at the main flash, but I didn't experiment that much. Anyway, it didn't cost much and is easy to carry for those times when a little fill is needed. I'll recommend it for those reasons.
