Comments about Sunpak Sunpak Digital Slave Unit with Preflash Cancellation, Multi Flash & Sync Socket:

I got this because being SUNPAK I figured it to work with their flash units, in fact a support page somewhere said it works w/ PF30X (supposedly Nikon TTL compliant, but only on camera hot shoe - else worthless flash) but it only works with really basic non-intelligent units

Do not waste your time. I have tried to use it with various Canon flashes and it is next to impossible to line up the contacts between the flash and this slave unit. Even when you finally get the contacts lined up and the ready light is on... the device may actually be locked and the only way to find out is to try to cycle between 1 flash - 2 flash... If it will not cycle, you have to turn it off and then back on. This is probably the worst designed piece of equipment I have used in almost 40 years of photography!

Comments about Sunpak Sunpak Digital Slave Unit with Preflash Cancellation, Multi Flash & Sync Socket:

This thing is garbage! Don't buy it! It worked three times then nothing. Tried every setting, turning off & on, blasting it full power--it doesn't work. I can maybe get 1 shot out of a hundred to flash so I know it's not operator error. When it does flash the pre-flash cancellation works and it's synced with my digicam even on full auto. Would've have been nice because the directions show that you can hook 2 flashes together via a sync cord; it also has 4 preflash + a manual setting; but alas it is useless. The manual is pretty cryptic and hard to understand as well--badly written.

Comments about Sunpak Sunpak Digital Slave Unit with Preflash Cancellation, Multi Flash & Sync Socket:

Great slave - I use it to pop an old flash onto the background. Offers several pre-flash cancellation options and works even when using iTTL! The 1/4-20 threads on the bottom are a plus.

Don't hessitate to buy this, just make sure you buy extra batteries for it - the On/Off switch is easy to leave on (trust me!!)
