Very well made and works as described but, it is quite large and VERY expensive. It costs so much I am playing Monday morning quarterback now and thinking I should have spent the money toward a new dedicated flash for my digital Nikon camera. If you love your Vivitar and want the very best hot shoe fix for it, then you found it.

Because the base is made of metal and there is no locking mechanism, it does slip out of any hot shoe type flash accessory for mounting on light stands. It does have a treaded base so you can screw it onto the light stand accessories (which I would recommend).
