I like this with an old Novatron 330 power pack (from 1960's!)that has a tight socket -but it won't work on anything else. It will not fit tightly into new extension cords, did not fit tightly into Speedotron unit. New cords and sockets expect thicker contacts on the plugs -these skinny prongs on the Wein don't fit tight so contact isn't reliable. Too often the flash doesn't fire. Wein needs to update prongs to contemporary standards.

The Wein L8 Micro Slave H-Prong effectively and reliably triggers my Novatron 400ws strobe. I use this indoors and have never seen a case where my other small speedlight did not trigger the Wein. To be fair, my lighting setups are typically for portrait or product work so I rarely place the lights more than 20 feet apart. As such, I don't know how well the reliability holds up when you're working with significant space between your master and slave lights. I also have not tried using this outdoors. However, if you're working inside, with relatively close distances, I don't believe this can be beat for the price.
