I used the Omni-Bounce with my Speed-lite to take informal pictures at a wedding reception and was pleased with my photos. I had good illumination without harsh shadows and red-eye as long as I remembered to point the flash upwards about 45 degrees. The Omni-Bounce is a simple and inexpensive way to improve your flash photography.

This defuser works very well and does everything as promised.
The only negetive I can point out is it lowers the effective range of your flash. But, they all do. I own two of these now and use them all the time. well worth the small price.

Dont shoot "bare" .... use the stofen. The quality of the spread is really nice, it sits perfectly on the flash and wont slip off, it is unobtrusive and best of all it just works! I have the Lightsphere which does a great job too but is more awkward and cumbersome. I like the quality the stofen puts out just as much and with a lot less hassle,

The omni-bounce is a valuable addition to the Canon flash. While I have only noticed a small difference in results when pointing the flash straight at the subject, bouncing the flash (guess that's why it's called omni-BOUNCE) off ceilings or walls gives a huge improvement. Note that I have so far used it only for relatively short distances; I imaging straight-on photos would be improved over longer distances.

Installing the Omni-bounce is 2 step process: 1. Open the package. 2. Slide it over the flash unit. That's it! Greatly difuses the light, reducing the harshness of flash only. Can be used straight on, but is at its best in the bounce position as you get some light going for the bounce, and some difusing straight towards your subject for more even lighting from just one light source.

Pros: Inexpensive, simple, lightweight, almost idiot proof, huge improve in the quality of the light output
Cons: Does knock down light output 1-2 stops

The Sto-Fen Omni Bounce Diffuser is a fantastic addition to any of the Canon Speedlite Flashes. It slides on and off of the flash quite easily, but tight enough that it will not fall off even while running to get in position for a new shot. The light distribution is even and soft, completely softening the harsh edges that can come with a direct flash. As far as using this for an angled bounce fill, this works to equally light both the focal and fill areas of the shot. You cant ask for a better piece of equipment for the price.

Its a great flash unit and I take it everywhere. It is heavy and it makes carrying the camera cumbersome, but it is important to remember that the flash allows photographs in a much wider array of conditions than simply relying on the built in flash or constant changes in iso. The flash meters wonderfully and, if set at angles, bounced off walls or ceilings or simply diffused with an attachment, illuminates skin, glossy hair, eyes without glare and with seemingly perfect focus.

I realize there are more sophisticated flash units - some with external battery packs to wear on a hip or place on the floor, but for fast paced, photojournalism or other applications, where you need good exposure, but don't have access to a studio, this is close to perfect.

This produces a very subtle effect. When it's wanted, it looks very good indeed. Sometimes, it is too much, even for its light-handed touch. Depends on what you want to see in your image. For digital, it's quite easy to check image and see if its look is your attempted creation. Nice, and can be very useful.

I use this flash in conjunction with another Nikon Flash that I had received from a friend. In comparison, this flash recycles very fast and has a long battery life, optimum for my activity of capturing headshots and portraits on a roof in downtown LA.

Got this one for my Canon 430EX to diffuse the flash a bit. It works as intended and fits snug on the flash. It's really handy since I can use a small camera bag (as the LowePro Slingshot 100AW) and fit my Canon 40D, Flash and the Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce.

Not like the first generation, it cannot control 580 EXII as a master. It can only be the slave when going wireless.

It fits well for my Canon 430EX speedlite. If you like to eliminate shadow you'd better put the camera a little far away.

What a simple and great product. It just beautifully softens the flash light, so your indoor flash photos almost look like shot in natural light. The only downside is that it somewhat reduces the flash output. Highly recommended for all external flash users.

For the price, this diffuser is hard to beat. It really softens shadows in low light conditions when using the 430. For general portraits, casual pictures at a party, and the like, it's great. And, for the money, it's a really good value!

This is a great additional to any hot shoe flash. The Sto-Fen fits perfectly. I even use mine while roaming thru the brush and trees photographing birds! Highly recommend!

Omni-Bounce for the Canon 430EX Flash is a must have item. Custom fitted so you never have to use Velcro on your flash. For such a simple product it produces just stunning results. This has got to be the one of the best products out there for photography! Don't think about it, just buy one.

Used it a couple of times and liked the effect. It is alright indoors and provides a little better lighting than bounce flash or is great with high ceilings where bounce flash is difficult. I have also got a chance to use it to shoot outdoors and it gives a softer light to the photo than with direct flash. A great little addition to the photo bag.

The loose fit could result in lose, but is correctable with self-adhering felt strips or the fuzzy side of valcro stick-on tape.

This product has been wonderful for replacing harsh lighting with soft and subtle smooth surface diffusion. The ability to bounce light and correct drop shadow is excellent. Very easy to remove and restore to flash unit.

I was recently shooting indoors at a local historical building and the light was poor at best, so decided to use my speed light with the sto-fen diffuser and I couldn't be happier. No unwanted shadows, even light distribution, it was amazing; I would have paid double for this product. If you don't have one already for your speed light, you need one.
