Comments about Sunpak Sunpak PF30X Flash with i-TTL for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras:
I think this is a perfectly serviceable flash at a fair price. The output is quite good and the recycle time is fast (with nimh batteries). It works great with Nikon i-TTL.
Obviously, if you want more control, you might want to spring for a Nikon speedlight. This flash only has -3/+3 EV control buttons, and an on/off switch. Any additional adjusting will have to be done from in the camera. It may or may not be able to be used wirelessly, depending on your camera. My d50 won't do that, because there is no commander mode.
Overall, I think it's a good flash for money, considering that it's fully compatible with i-TTL.

Nice flash. Light, powerful, easy to use. but on vacation last summer, I carried the flash in an upper photo vest pocket. The switch moved from off to on in the pocket, a couple of times before I figured out why my batteries were dead. Exchanged the unit. Same thing happened.
Returned to the store. A clerk said "Oh,a piece of tape would solve that." Sunpak customer service said: "We've never heard of such a thing." Against my advice, a friend bought one, which displayed the same problem with the switch.
Replaced it with a Nikon flash that is not as powerful, and I don't like nearly as well, but it works!

Slow recycling time as per specs (8-10 secs, my gosh!). But with fresh 3500mAh NiMh rechargeables, time drops to just 2 seconds! Try it!
