Purchased this kit based on the good reviews and value for the price. I got exactly what I wanted out of this - just a basic lighting set-up to hold my speedlight strobes. The big leather bag it comes with also holds my full-size tripod together with the two light stands. You just can't beat the price for this kit. Great value if you're a beginning photographer wanting to get into portraiture.

I purchased this kit to be able to carry it with me at weddings and on-location portrait shoots.
1). The two umbrellas that come with this kit are great - they will do the job over and over. Perfect size, lightweight and well constructed - I am really happy with them.
2). The two stands, while light to carry and relatively well constructed, can be a bit unstable, especially if you are shooting outside and there is a sudden wind gust. If indoors, they can easily fall down if accidentally pushed.
3). It would have been nice to add a small hot shoe for a strobe flash to this kit - I had to buy mine separately.
3). The bag, as convenient as it is for storage, is unfortunately quite unreliable if taken outside. Mine was torn the very first time I took it out - Ouch! Now I am considering buying a separate one.
Overall, this is a great kit for the money. If you are a starter and do not intend to use it hard, you won't go wrong with it.
