Comments about Westcott Westcott 45" Optical White Satin Umbrella:
This is a good light weight, low cost umbrella. The very first time I used it outside, however, I didn't weight the base of my lightstand and the wind took it down immediately. The umbrella frame was bent, but I was able to bend it back. The umbrella is still serviceable and works well. My warning is just to be sure you place something HEAVY on the base of the lightstand before you walk away.
Comments about Westcott Westcott 45" Optical White Satin Umbrella:
Extremely good quality umbrella and good size for most of the work I do with portraits. I use mostly speedlights aka strobist setup for my work, so I really do not need an umbrella much larger than this. Great fabric, seems pretty durable, the frame looks pretty durable as well. I see me using this for a long time. Also, one small detail that's often overlooked, but can be very important for protecting your umbrella is the case or cover it came with. It's only a clear vinyl cover, but it's thick enough to be durable and it protects the umbrella from dirt and keeps it from snagging on other objects. For that reason plus the overall quality of the umbrella, Westcott has just obtained another loyal customer. The 28" Apollo Softbox is next!
