Used this camera ONCE... bought it just before going on a holiday, and took it to the beach.Read the manual carefully and followed all precautions. Made extra sure the battery door was locked prior to going to the beach. After a few dozen photos of the kids, it quit. Took it back to shore, dried it off and had a good look at it. Small water droplets were found inside the battery compartment. Obviously the seal leaked. Post vacation, camera is still less than a month old, took it back to the store and they sent it to pentax. 4 weeks later I get a phone call from Pentax. Their expert technicians looked at it and apparently there is a small crack in the case??? I don't think so (I never saw one). The seal on the battery door was not glued-down properly in one corner. It was obvious to me and to several more-experienced camera people that this seal was faulty... But more importantly, whether it was a faulty seal, OR, a crack in the case. It does NOT matter. This camera is obviously defective... it's supposed to be waterproof and it is NOT. Pentax now says that the crack in the case must be my fault (!!!???), and that the warranty is void.Buyer beware. Pentax has NO warranty [...]

I use it every day in office and on Travel, small, compact, avery good battery live!

Under rain, sun and dust... a graet investment.
