I would never have chosen this recharger as a stand-alone purchase. It was included with my flash, and simply isn't practical. A flash relly needs a fast recharger -- when I'm shooting an event, I carry 3-4 sets of batteries for my flash (allowing me approximately 300-400 flashes). A charger included in a flash package should be a rapid recharger -- my studio recharger does the job in 15 minutes. I can't wait four hours for the batteries to recharge during an event; by that time, the event is over.

I purchased this battery & charger set up as part of a kit along with a Nikon SB600 Speedlight. I was a little concered about quality issues after reading some previous reviews. I am happy to report the set works fine. The batteries actually charge quicker than described. I would buy this set as a stand alone item.

These batteries for some reason DO NOT work with the Pentax K-X dslr. Other brands work fine. Have tried two different sets from Adorama with exactly the same results. DSLR refuses to start up (even after waiting many minutes for the camera to "recognise" the NiMH batteries).

This charger works well but is cheaply made. The batteries seem better than most.
BUT, rechargeable AA batteries are only rated at 1.2v, whereas regular AA batteries are 1.5V. So when the rechargeable are fully charged they are only 1.3-1.4v at most. Regular AAs will test about 1.6v new. My camera only works a short while on the rechargeable, much longer on regular AA. Not sure rechargeable AAs are worth the trouble.

The charger is pretty cheesy as well with confusing flashing/solid patterns of red/green LED's which make no sense. Sometimes on plug in the red led flashes, other times its solid. Excellent paiting for Canon Speedlite 270EX which takes 2 batteries and this comes with and charges 4 bateries. This charger also automatically switches to a trickle charger, and works in both 220 an 110 envirnrments which makes it exelent for travel.

I got these with my Canon Speedlite flash and these batteries and CHARGER are awesome. The charger throws a full charge to these batteries in about 3 hours and 45 minutes and I used my flash consistently for 3 1/2 weeks before I had to stick them back on the charger. Really nice setup and way cheaper than throw away batteries.

I got this as a 'kit' with my Nikon 600 flash. The batteries may be OK, but the charger is TERRIBLE. Initial charge was going for 4 hours so I checked on it. Smelled like burning electronics and the batteries were HOT. I switched them to a slow charger. Hope they are OK.

Adorama, batteries may be good, but don't sell such a crummy charger. And reviews of the batteries show that this charger stinks.

I bought two set of these batteries with the chargers i have had no problems with this product. Charge them overnight before your next shoot and you are ready to go. You have at least a all day shoot with these batteries. be paient with the charging process and you will never have a problem with the batteries going down to soon.

Purchased these with a Speedlight 580EX II as a kit. Charged fully according to the charger unit. Worked okay for six or seven shots and then just gave out. Re-charged them (twice!) and got the same result except that I couldn't get even one shot out of them. Save your money.

This is the second one I've purchased. I've had the first for almost a year, under continuous usage, and it works perfectly.

I almost gave it 4 out of 5 stars only because 4 hours charge time seems like much. However, it does exactly what it says it will do, and if you're prepared with lots of pre-charged batteries, the 4 hours won't be a problem. You can pay more for the faster chargers if that's important enough.

I even love the 2900 mAH batteries. I put a pair of them in my Nikon SB400 flash unit, and used it vigorously (nephew's graduation) for an entire weekend.

You can buy this product with complete confidence.

Snagged these as part of the 580EX II Kit. Came with the Diffuser as well. I figured for an extra 15 Georges it would be work it. Needed some more rechargeable anyhow. In my flash unit I don’t fire the flash 100 times in a row and then for the most part the batteries sit in the flash so my flash is ready to go anytime I need it. Really what can be said? They work and seemed like a good value considering I got them in a kit.

I use the Adorama 2900 mAH rechargeable batteries to power my Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd. When traveling it's possible to shoot outdoors all day on a single full charge. I always carry an extra set of four batteries with me just in case they are needed but that rarely happens. If I could wish for one improvement it would be for a faster recharge cycle. Currently I'll plug the charger in at night to be assured of having the power I need for the next day of shooting.

The charger seems very durable but one of the batteries was not. The covering split and it now doesn't seem to fit so well in the charger. Purchased these recharageables because my camera goes thru AA batteries too quickly. I have 16 of these batteries, using 4 at a time. Thought I could save some money and not be throwing batteries in the land fill. The fact is they do not hold a charge, causing recharging while working is not convenient nor productive.

I used them for a shoot with no real knowledge of their capability and output levels. I was very pleased with the results and Adoramas excellent price. I purchased this with a Sb600 Speedlight. After the initial charge the batteries will provide you with many flashes. I shoot many 3 shot bursts and they are always there. The charger is compact. NiMH batteries are new to me and I'm still not sure how I feel about them. I bought them to be green and not throw away batteries anymore. I love Adorama and their products, so I'm only reviewing NiMH batteries in general here, and not this particular product. I would have had a similar experience with any other brand. I just bought Adorama's because I know they sell good stuff and have plenty of credibility with the pro's.Compared to an alkaline battery the NiMH's self-discharge when not in use VERY QUICKLY, so you basically need to charge them before every use, and not just leave them in the flash the way you can an alkaline battery. I've had no issues with these batteries and charger so far. I get 400 to 400 flashes on these batteries and they recycle quickly. I like them.

I have been using this product for over 1 year. Charger does get very warm but I have experienced none of the issues those with bad experiences have. product works great, charges fast and holds charge for days at a time (re: in between flash usage) Have taken pictures all day with SB-600 and no problems

I would not recommend these to my worst enemy!

I'm used to using a different AA 2700mAH battery in all my Nikon SB800s and Vivitar 285s with AWESOME results.

Well, when I saw these POWER2000 AAs rated at 2900mAH I thought I'd give them (being rated at 200mAH higher) a try to compare performance. BOY WAS I LET DOWN! Not only do they not not even recharge my SB800 but 2 of the batteries were totally defective. Very dissatisfied.

One year ago I bought these batteries, and at the same time for approximately same price I bought the Energizer's batteries (2500mah) at WalMart. I used both these sets intermittently. The Adorama batteries became practically unusable after 6 months and I discarded them, but Energizer's ones are like new until now.

Have given this the old college try, but it just doesn't work.

Plugged it in with batteries carefully and fully inserted, both lights turned red, and they never turned green. One turned off after a while. I tried putting them in my flash, and they died after four or five test shots.

Really a poor product, from what I can tell.

2 sets ordered , both resulted in short life forall batteries , also 2 cameras , 1 did not ship for inventory shortage , also 2 kits of bag,memoryand an unusefull lens cleaner . All worked but thebatteries ! Never last a day out ,and cameras werean easy pair . Batteries allways got a lot hot inthe charger . I've decided to measure the current,it's easy if you have the meter and put a littleplastic & a little foil in (one)-ve side battery.It pumps 350 mA thru esch pair of AAs, wich is agood reason to "fry" the NiMHs ... I have been using the Adorama batteries in my Canon EX580 and EX580II flashes with great results. They have out performed other batteries by providing more flashes with quick recycle time. They work great and are available at a great price.

Recharges quickly. Recycled faster than I could make up my mind what to shoot next at a big and loud party last weekend. I took 250 or so pictures and the flash recycled at a constant rate for the duration. I am very happy with the batteries.

They are Power2000 professional brand.
I will be buying more of these batteries.

These are niMH batteries so please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the best use practices of this type of battery for maximum battery life. You can hurt this type of battery by letting it discharge too deeply.

For storage:
Unlike NiCads which store best discharged and shorted out I would suggest storeing them with a partial charge in them.
