Comments about Kodak Kodak MS-76L Button Battery, 3.0 volt Lithium, 58L:
At 3 volts, this CR1/3N battery is a perfect replacement, or substitute, for a PAIR of the once very common S-76 silver batteries, which are getting to be not-so-common any more. Thus, one of these batteries would fit perfectly into the well of a Nikon F2 or F3 and many other older cameras and light meters.
For me, the value of this battery, which is a lithium, not silver battery, is its long shelf life. My older film cameras do not get as much use as they did before I went digital, yet I want these old beauties to be ready to go at a moment’s notice. A lithium battery like this stored with the camera, but not inside the battery chamber, is the perfect answer. The original one that came with my Nikon FM3A almost eight years ago is still good. Of course, that is with very light, intermittent use.
By the way, the Nikon F3 uses a minute amount of current even when switched off and so it will run any battery down in about a year to 18 months- another good reason to store the battery outside the camera.

If you're reading this review (of a battery), then you need to go outside and shoot some more. Really. It would be good for you.
Cheers!
