I needed an external battery to use with my camera, and Personal Media Player. The mini USB cable works with both.I used the flash on my camera, draining the battery down about half, and it took about an hour or so to completely recharge it. Then not recharging the 1550, I ran a 1hr 38min movie on the camera. Usually I get only 1hr 10min....I got the whole movie. The lights after charging the camera were on the 2nd light, (it seems to blink when about to go down to the next light. Which it did about 15mins before end of the movie.) After the movie, only the 3rd light showed. So it works for the purpose I intend for it....have enough power to watch a whole movie. Fully Charged I could probably watch 2 90min movies. Have to give that a try. Also, when I unplug the 1550, my camera still had a FULL CHARGE!!!My PMP does 4 hours of video, so one movie is not a problem...but if I forget to recharge the PMP, (which I did), you can see that this device could save you some aggravation.It is about the size of my camera, and would easily fit in a shirt pocket...might want to use a pants pocket as it could fall out of the shirt pocket. Or leave it in the pouch to give it extra protection.I use rechargable batteries, and will use a faster charger to charge them.Pros: good price! compact, uses AA batteries available anywhere. comes with some goodies.Cons: nothing you can't work around!!!!PLUS: Adorama had a great price, [...]
