I purchased my canon 20d a couple of years ago and have only used the auto settings and resently I have had more time to work on my photo skills and found the manuel confusing when it spoke about the creative settings. I learned and understood more about my camera after watching half the dvd than I had gotten from the manuel in 2 years. Its simple and easy to understand.
