Comments about Joe McNally DVD: Joe McNally: The Language of Light (2 DVD Set) New for 2011:

Loved the video. Joe McNally did a great job at describing the "why" behind his lighting choices and illustrating his rationale for certain actions. I would highly recommend this to others. You get to see multiple lighting setups and often get to see how one shot looks, then compare it to the subsequent shots and the changes he made (but you don't get to compare it side by side, which would be one suggestion to the developers of the video).

Comments about Joe McNally DVD: Joe McNally: The Language of Light (2 DVD Set) New for 2011:

"The Language of Light" DVD set presented by Joe McNally is a very informative set of tutorials on the use of just speed-lights in portrait situations, whether inside a studio, outside, single subject, multiple subjects, stationary, moving, etc. In each tutorial Joe explains how the light should be drawn, settings to use, speed-light position and light modifies to use. He explains the advantage of light modifiers and when to use which modifier. Some subject specifics are also covered. The presentation focuses on Nikon equipment but any other brand can be used in the same way. He starts off with using the on board flash and progresses to multiple speed lights. This DVD set is a worthy addition to any photographers library. The reader may also consider books written by Joe on further lighting examples.
