McNallys work is phenomenal, he's great in back of the camera, but not much in front of it. I think he should leave these "instructional" videos to someone who is really good at teaching and devote that time to making more outstanding photographs. Fortunately, this DVD played fine even though the outside case looked as though it was dragged behind a truck from the East Coast to the Southwest.

Great DVD to review and and to Libarary very helpful on remote lighting not enough detail on operating SB-600 speedlights like the behind the scenes commentary

all in all a great dvd - he tackles a lot of different lighting situations which is nice - from single strobes to multi - doesn't go into a ton of detail but just enough to let you know his approach - his thought process and his solutions to tricky problems.

You'll still have to read your manual - but this at least inspires you to.

Good buy!

This is "promotional" video no instructional like the title suggests. This a rip-off a scam. Shame on Nikon for selling it.

Product bought to show how to set up SB800 Nikon flash. Topic of flash settings was never really addressed. When topic was address the photography was poor and could not see the flash settings. Overall extremely disappointed with the DVD. They should have thought out the placement of their own cameras for photographing the subject of the DVD.

This DVD is a waste of time and money. It is a 30-40 minute commercial to showcase the Nikon speedlights. It fails to offer ANY detailed instructions, how-to's, explanations of setups, etc.

It's just on-location shoots to show the versatility of the lighting system.

To tell you the truth, it's rather brilliant. Usually companies pay networks, etc. to show you a commercial... Nikon has figured out how to get YOU to buy the commercial!

I bought this thinking it would be a good instructional video. I am new to flash lighting and this isn't what I was looking for. I got some great ideas but really, no "how to" from this. I'd say put this toward the bottom of your wish list.

This is a good video if you are a more advanced lighting/flash user. I bought a SB800 and was looking for a more basic training video. This video was not quite "basic" enough.

While fun to watch, it was not that instructional. The Magic Lantern book now out on the Nikon Speedlight system is much more helpful and allows me to use the full potential of the system.
