I do agree the set does not include enough of the useful technical info behind the images.. but Ed Pierce was almost funny at times since he was too technical... Parker was the most inspirational for me and worth the price of the dvd's alone.... some sections do come across a little amateurish imo.
it is great to see how all the photographers vary in their approach and it helps you discover/refine more about your own style and approach...
My biggest complaint is they seem to almost entirely skip or avoid the crowd control/ posing/positioning behind the few group shots.. I personally would have preferred to see a little more photographer interaction with the guests since this sometimes is the most challenging part...
nitpick: Some of the photographers don't turn off the beep on their camera and it gets very annoying once you notice it.....

To get to the point, I was very disappointed with this DVD set. The good points are watching pro photographers in action and seeing how they are able to make fantastic photos in just plain ole' ordinary enviroments. "But", The problem is they don't tell you what they are doing while they are making these awesome photos or what they do to them later to get them to look like they do. They don't tell what the camera settings are( focal length, aperture, manual mode?, Av mode? etc. . .). I could go and on, but it's pretty much a videographer following around pros doing their pro thing but not 'really' telling you how to get those images to have that 'pro' look. The segment of a particular photographer who is talking about how he works his photos in photoshop. . . . I got nothing from it and boy was I disappointed, because if I could get my photos to look half as good as is. . . .
I think I wasted $ , and that hurt. I'll try to be more careful on which educational media I get in the future, I don't know how I'll do that because I bought this DVD set partialy due to the one and only other review of this product, which I obviously don't agree with.
I do need to note that Ed Pierce is 'very' informative with his segment in this DVD. But it's only one of five DVDs.
