These exiter lamps have served us well in our editing machine optical sound readers for over 20 years. The low cost offsets the short service life. The consistant filament placement makes it easy to get a system up and running. At 4V, we can add additional filtering to the higher voltage DC power supply to get very pure illumination of the soundtrack, thus improving our signal to noise ratio.
