I have had this lens for several years now. I carry it mainly while traveling, but I have never swapped a Nikon lens for this one. This lens is not a sharp unit, it is cheap, but does work fine on D50, D70s and D80 cameras. The lens has some distortion and high contrast. I recommend this lens if you travel and do not want to carry a heavy lens. Situation, you are traveling and the airline lost your baggage and camera equipment, buy it. You are away from home and your good lens stopped working or gets damaged then, buy it as an emergency. The worst Nikon lens it better than this one.
