I bought the panamatic just to try a couple panorama's. The simple design is great. The plastic construction not so great. The smaller screw size that attaches to the tripod does not fit my tripods. The package does say it will work with any tripod. NOT.

[...] piece of plastic, that's it. probably works O.K. for small consumer digital cameras. I mounted my Canon digital rebel XTI on it and the weight of the camera (which isn't that heavy!) makes it difficult to feel the indents across the full 360 degree range. Also cannot adjust for the nodal point of the lens being used. If you don't know what "nodal point" is, please do yourself a favor and research this topic before making the purchase. As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for."

I got a perfect pano from the very first use! A light touch is required from the user. The level is easily readable with my Canon G7 attached.
