I use it as Protection for my Camera while hiking. It is really lightweight and I wrap the little arms near the body where my hands are not, Easy to adjust so it is not blocking my hands when I need it, and I know that if I happen to fall it is that much more between my camera and the rocks.. any extra protection is welcome, also it can easily be adjusted to enable you to set the camera down if need be.

I have found other uses for this item. I have attached lights to it.
I have wrapped around found objects in the field to extend my reach and shot wireless remote.
