Comments about Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging Bogen-Manfrotto Compact 4-Section Monopod, Black Anodized, #3249B:

I have used this monopod for shooting dozens of Little League Baseball games from inside the fence line. It is quick, solid, and easy to use. I like using it in the most compact form as I get low to the ground for better angles on the young players. This is an awesome monopod for the money. I'm sure there are lighter ones out there, but I don't hike long distances with it so the weight has never bothered me.

I have been a Bogen/Manfrotto user for many years. I bought the 680B for use with my Nikon D200....very sturdy, lightweight and closes down to a nice compact length. With a 496RC2 Manfrotto compact ball head on top, it's the perfect support for the majority of my work.

Very sturdy with easy to use joint locks. Neat spring loaded screw assembly lets you use 3/8 or 1/4 mount. It is large and a little heavy and you might want something smaller for a lightweight camera. I use d700 with heavy lens and it does the job. When collapsed, it is an excellent personal protection device.

If you want to travel light this is a great alternative to using a tripod. I've used this for many outings including shoots for sailing regattas and to capture images using slower shutter speeds. Solid enough to hold an SLR with a long lens. Great product.

Comments about Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging Bogen-Manfrotto Compact 4-Section Monopod, Black Anodized, #3249B:

I've only had this monopod for a shortperiod of time, and have subsequently only had limited opportunity to use it, but I can definitely say, that I think it's a nice piece of kit. And a reasonably priced one at that. It's very sturdy, light, not too long when collapsed, and it has clasps instead of the always infernal and never quite satisfactory twistlocks. Monopods are, in their nature, very userfriendly and easy to use with good results. Especially if you do quite a bit of sportsphotography. This one adds the comfort of knowing that you can haul it with you on a hike through some difficult terrain or up a mountain and use it as a walking stick (or a convenient place to rest a weary chin). A feature many monopods are without.

While this monopod isn't the lightest thing ever created, it is ridiculously sturdy and compact! The grip is a great size (although I also cannot really find a use for the strap...), and the camera mount screw-within-a-screw is really cool.

Comments about Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging Bogen-Manfrotto Compact 4-Section Monopod, Black Anodized, #3249B:

It's a great monopod. Not light, but that's expected, it doesn't have a carbon price tag either. I loved the compactness, easily fits in a suitcase, rugged as could be. I just can't figure out the hand strap, it's there not very useful, it came undone few times and I lost it. Otherwise, very dependable.

Comments about Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging Bogen-Manfrotto Compact 4-Section Monopod, Black Anodized, #3249B:

I'll use this when out in the field with longer lenses. I have a back injury that make it difficult to support my heavier lenses but a tripod is overkill sometimes. I wanted something sturdy that could fit in my carryon luggage and didn't have the money for one of the carbon versions. This monopod feels very sturdy. It's not lighweight but it collapses down nicely. The fliplock clamps seem to hold well so far.

Comments about Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging Bogen-Manfrotto Compact 4-Section Monopod, Black Anodized, #3249B:

I have only begun to use the monopod, but have already been impressed by the ease of extension and locking / unlocking. With Bogen ball head it makes a rigid single instrument for camera and even long lenses that serves as a hiking pole w/ camera. I haven't yet explored the limits of exposure time, but along with IS, I'm betting a few stops beyond IS alone.

I've used this product for over five years. Unfortunately I left it in a golf cart and it is now the property of someone else. I purchased the exact model to replace my old one, as I couldn't find a better product for the money. It's lightweight, easy to open and comfortable in the hand. I'm not going to leave this one alone.

Comments about Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging Bogen-Manfrotto Compact 4-Section Monopod, Black Anodized, #3249B:

One of the best accessory investments I've made. Works great for medium telephoto nature shots, provides a good 3-4 stop advantage over hand held. Also comes in handy for stabilizing clumsy photographers (me) while trying to get that perfect shot in rough terrain! A ballhead adds convienience, but isn't neccessary to get a lot of use out of this monopod.

I bought this to use as a backup to my Bogen tripod. Well this thing holds my 20D with battery grip, and the Sigma 50-500 with no problems at all. I attached the swivel quickrelease head for a complete package

The one thing that surprised me was the heavy duty construction of such a compact and light monopod. It would easily handle the larger L series glass with ease.

Comments about Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging Bogen-Manfrotto Compact 4-Section Monopod, Black Anodized, #3249B:

As an amateur photographer, who happens to find most of his shots while riding a motorcycle, I find this monopod to be perfect. Compact enough to fit in a saddle bag, and if you mark one of the sections it will extend to perfect eye level in seconds. The shaft locks are very secure. I have leaned on it with most of my weight and had no slippage. If you are in need of a monopod, I would certainly recommend this one.
