Comments about Sunpak Sunpak Compact 6-Section Monopod with Strap & Chestpod Adapter Clip:
Best value I could find for the $. I use it on vacation, street scenes and landscapes. Metal ballhead is very sturdy and does not whiplash; competitors in same price range have plastic ballheads. Last extension is a bit thin with a very small 'foot,' a tradeoff for extension length and compactness, so it is really too wobbly for very long exposures. It probably would be good for sports photography too.

This is a nice, compact mono pod. I love how small it is, that was a selling point for me. But the thing I do not like is that when it is fully extended the lower section has a tendency to collapse on to itself (the lowest section just has a click stop to hold it open - the upper sections have a twist lock). This one works best when it is not fully extended. So I find it very use to useful sitting down but not when standing up. But it is one of the smallest mono-pods that works for me (I'm 6'2") many were just too short to use standing up.
