Very nice Monopod and it packs well. Nowhere near as bulky as most. Easy to assemble. We took it to Mexico and it packed easily in our carry-on luggage. Using a Canon 20D with the 24-105 IS lens - the magnet alone is not strong enough - you must use the safety clip also! The magnet alone would be fine with a smaller camera.

Went to Hawaii on a honeymoon cruise for 15 days. Used the TrekPod Go with my Pentax W10. Got all kinds of photos of the two of us. Set my Nikon SB900 on the TrekPod as hairlight and shoot with my SB800 fired by the built in flash of my D300 in command mode. Great results. If the whole thing will telescope into a single piece, like the Komperdell, it would be perfect.

Comments about Trek-Tech Trek-Tech TrekPod Go, Multi-purpose Tripod System with Walking Staff, Monopod & Tripod, & MagMount Quick Release - Compact Version:
This is a great mono/tri pod. Very light and people think you have a great walking stick. Now that I have started using it I get much steadier shots, just was out on a very windy day and found it rock solid.
I was skeptical about the magnets holding a heavy SLR but they do with no problems whatsoever.
The only low point is that assembling the pod is a bit tedious.

Most of my photography involves hiking. I use a hiking staff, and rarely took a tripod along. With the TrekPod Go, I have one lightweight pole that does it all! I've used it on 3 hikes. With a DSLR on it, it is a bit top heavy if it's windy or on an incline. I expected that because of the shorter, lower tripod legs. Just keep a hand on the pole. It's a small inconvenience in exchange for the versatility. To better protect the tripod legs while hiking, I bought some rubber table leg caps at a hardware store. A cap slips snuggly over the 3 folded legs, and offers better grip on most surfaces while hiking.
