The Quick Release is wonderful for getting the camera on and off of the tripod with ease. No more trouble with trying to screw the camera to the tripod, just instantly on and off!

Added this with a Manfrotto monopod tilt head to a monopod. What a great setup! Can quickly switch between my matching tripod and monopod without unscrewing the plate from my camera. Very solid construction. The female receiver underneath is setup to receive either the smaller size screw like the camera tripod receiver, or the larger size screw from a Manfrotto headless tripod.

Just added another to photo spread. Every new piece of gear purchased will require the purchase of one to incorporate it into a systems approach to setting up camera gear. This system is a very inexpensive quick-connect system which saves a lot of time setting up and taking down shots. I have very pleased how on how it performs. Don't shot without using them!

A great little device for a tinkering project. I put this plate and connector to use on a homemade mount to support the weight of a largish mirror lens that didn't come with a collar, and it worked out perfectly. This is the third one of these handy little gizmos that I've bought over the years, so I guess that's a pretty good indicator of what I think of them.

I own three of these and the Quality is a 10+! and whats cool about buying these is I use them to convert odd tripod plates to Manfrotto 3157N/200PL as my standard, so i can use any cam on any pod or jig without changing plates on the cams. The 1/4-20 plate to camera screw on any odd tripod plate fits the bottom of this quick release mount. So an off brand tripod head or jig can have a Manfrotto plate connected to it! My plate on my cameras stay on all the time and I never have to worry about mounting when I'm switching from my pods and jigs. GREAT TOOL!

Rock solid! Very strong clamp! No slip rubber pad that WORKS! Like all Manfrotto equipment, this is precision built with strong materials made to last. I'm pretty sure they all come in all black construction now, i just bought two and both were all black quick release parts and all black and dark grey plate. (That light grey color pictured is the old school Manfrotto paint sceam)

I have installed one on every tripod that I own and ordered extra plates so I have a plate on every camera that I own. It saves lots of time setting up and tearing down on shots. I just unfold the tripod, open the camera bag, pull out the camera and snap the camera on, than I am set to adjust the camera for the shot. It is very fast, shure and solid which increases speed in accurate setups and focusing. I use the system on everything from 4x5 view down to 35mm and digital systems. I don't shoot without it. This has been a lifesaver - only regret is that I have not done it sooner!

I use the RC2 compact rapid connector on my cameras and for our two spotting scopes. We travel outside the country and size and weight are big considerations in what we take. The bogen RC2 is lightweight yet sturdy, holds cameras with heavy telephoto lenses firmly, and makes it easy to pop on and off my tripod, monopod or window mount. I wouldn't leave home without this connector.

The most useful feature is the flexibility I have in mounting cameras to different setups. I can Change out a camera or support in a couple of seconds. I also use it to attach a neck strap - perfect position when not in use and I also have flash brackets fitted so that I can mount camera there as well.

I tried to save a buck with a couple of adapters/plates that cost about half of this product's very reasonabe price. The action was horribly unsmooth and the attachment between the plate and the adapter was not tight. This one is made of much better materials, its action and fit are crisp, precise and secure. A great value, in my opinion.

My only disappointment was that exactly the same "look-alike plates" coming with and fitting various web-vendor's tripods or monopods DO NOT FIT. I had hoped to be able to use the plates that fit and came with my graphite monopod and tripods on this adapter mounted to my Novoflex chest-pod but no such luck. Oh well!

This works just like it says easily attaches to 1/4 or 3/8 stud I especially like the autolocking feature. If it is enabled once you use the quick realease to secure your camera it can't accidently be unlatched

Although there are many fancier quick-release systems, the RC2 is strong, small, secure, low-profile, and reliable. And inexpensive. Several Bogen/Manfrotto tripod heads use the 3157N plate which is part of the RC2 system. I also use it on top of their larger plate so that I can quickly move my workhorse camera from one support to another. The security latch is a very important feature, as it prevents accidental release of the camera.

mount is good. base plate won't accept any of my OTHER 3157 QR Mounts, making this a useless quick swap mount. the side notches are a nuisance - and I don't really want to have to grind my other 4 mounts to fit this unit. Overall, for multiple cameras this is poor. single purpose - one camera, then really nice QR mount for an older tripod
