I use this quick release with a lightweight Gitzo travel tripod and Novoflex ball head. It fits the setup and overall I'm happy with it. The clamp concerns me in that it doesn't have a safety lock and relies solely on friction. It also seems overpriced to me. I've had limited experience with it so far.
