It is an excellent ball head. I don't need to repeat what the other reviewers have praised about it. I would rather talk about the Quick Release.

The problem of the Quick Release is its design is not intuitive, and the instruction paper does not explain how to operate. If you try by error, you may damage the relatively small lever.

However once know how to operate, it is easy and fast to open and close. The operation is a 2 steps process - the first step is to turn the lever 90 degree to release the plate slightly so that you can adjust its position on the clamp. The second step is to turn the lever 180 degree to fully open the clamp.

The operation is you pull the metal switch on the lever to open 90 degree, and then pull the metal rob inside the lever to open 180 degree. It sounds complicated but once you are familiar you can operate in one go to open 180 degree in a fast and continuous way.

I hope this helps those who want to buy the Quick Release version. It is not bad at all.

This is an excellent ball head. My only problem with it was the finicky quick release. It is both fragile (warranty small print says it will not be covered if broken due to too much pressure) and takes more time to fully unlock, than the thumb screw release I ended up having to buy at a big loss. Save yourself both time and headache and don't buy the quick release version.

Best ballhead I have ever used. Solid as a rock, turns silky smooth. Might just be my last ballhead. However, for this price, I wish it had come with a plate.
