Comments about Benbo Benbo Professional Ball & Socket Tripod Head:

Having used the Benbo line for a long time, I was really looking forward to the new and largest head that Benbo makes. At first glance everything seemed fine.
Once I installed the head, I attached the camera and was ready to give a try. I secured the main locking knob but my camera would not stay in the locked position! I quickly noticed that the round attachment piece that secures to the bottom of your camera completely unscrewed from the ball joint. This means that even though the ball socket is locked down, the camera itself can rotate around the threaded portion! YUK!!
To further clarify, the ball joint (that fits into the socket) has a threaded screw and round knob attached to it. This thread portion is what goes into the camera by tightening the circular knob. That knob however can unscrew itself from the ball joint making the whole unit worthless. I now must send this to a welder to have it fixed or return it as is.
