Comments about Davis & Sanford Davis & Sanford Medium Ball Head with Quick Release, Supports up to 7 lbs.:

I purchased this as a lightweight option for a monopod. Product description says smooth movement, but it feels very rough, as if the ball is scraping inside the socket. This was supposed to be new, but the package was scuffed and the printed insert (in the blister package) was quite smudged up, so I suspect this was a return. Shame on Adorama for selling this as a new item.

Nevertheless, it works acceptably on a monopod, since I just need something that allows the camera to pivot. I'm not trying to do fine adjustments or have it lock in place, since I'm always holding the camera while it's on the monopod.

I would recommend it only as a cheap option for a monopod. It would not be good for a tripod.
