Comments about Vanguard Vanguard SBH-250 Fluid Ballhead with Quick Release for the Elite and Tracker Tripods, Supports 44 lbs.:
I currently usually use this to support a Nikon 70-200mm lens mounted to D90 body and mounted atop a Velbon Geopod 7 monopod. This head supports the body and lens combination effortlessly.
Its action while panning is very smooth, and when the ball is locked down, it STAYS locked down. So far, I have detected zero creep.
Each knob, large or small, operates smoothly, too, and each knob is easy to grip and turn. The knobs appear to be large enough to be able to operate them while wearing gloves.
I have not owned and used the head enough to be able to comment on its durability.
The instructions left a lot to be desired, but anyone should be able to determine what each knob does by playing with the head for a while.
Bottom line is, I think this is a good piece of gear and I'm satisfied with my purchase.

I use this fo my E-520 & 50-500 lens on wildlife photography. I've tried several and this was by far the best for the money. It's uncomplicated, strong and holds the lens exactly where I point it.
